Todaiji – 04 Octagonal Lantern

In the front of the Great Buddha Hall,   there is an octagonal lantern.

It stands in peace, quietly so you might not notice it.

You can’t miss it!   It is one of the oldest treasures Todaiji has!

This lantern has been here from the founding of Todaiji.  It’s  from 8 century.
